Job Summary:

As a Functional Safety Manager at Axonne, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the functional safety of our semiconductor products and systems, which are essential for the success of autonomous and connected vehicles. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the functional safety processes, standards, and practices, as well as working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Functional Safety Planning: Develop and maintain the functional safety plan in accordance with ISO 26262 and other relevant standards, outlining safety goals, processes, and milestones for semiconductor development projects.

Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment: Lead hazard analysis, risk assessment, and safety goal determination activities to identify potential hazards and evaluate associated risks in semiconductor designs and systems.

Safety Concept Development: Work collaboratively with HW and SW engineering teams to define and develop the safety concept and architecture of semiconductor products, ensuring that safety requirements are integrated into the design.

Functional Safety Verification: Oversee safety verification activities, including safety analyses, modeling, and simulations, to validate that the semiconductor products meet safety requirements.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation for safety cases, safety plans, and safety analyses. Ensure timely reporting of safety-related information to relevant stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with hardware and software engineering teams, as well as quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of safety measures throughout the product development lifecycle. Collaborate with OEM, Tier 1, and Tier 2 to ensure all aspects of joint safety engineering development are accomplished in a timely manner according to the project plan.

Compliance and StandardsKeep abreast of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to functional safety, and ensure the company’s products and processes comply with these requirements.

Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in safety processes and methodologies, and lead initiatives to enhance the safety culture within the organization.

Audits and Assessments: Participate in or lead functional safety assessments and audits, both internally and externally, to ensure the robustness of safety processes.

Training and Education: Conduct training and awareness programs on functional safety principles for internal teams, promoting a safety-conscious mindset.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or an Engineering field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in functional safety management in the automotive semiconductor industry.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 26262 and other relevant functional safety standards.
  • Proven experience with safety analysis techniques, such as FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, and HARA.
  • Familiarity with automotive safety architectures and safety mechanisms.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Certification in Functional Safety (e.g., TÜV, UL, exida) is mandatory.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
